
Ingredients
1. Vendakka / Lady’s finger / Okra – ½ kg
2. Onion – 1
3. Green chillies – 2
4. Tomato – 1 ( if required)
5. Chilly powder – 1 tea spoon
6. Coriander powder – 2 tea spoon
7. Turmeric powder – ½ tea spoon
8. Garam masala – ½ tea spoon
9. Pepper powder – ½ tea spoon
10. Salt – as required
11. Ginger paste – ½ tea spoon
12. Coconut milk – ½ cup
13. Mustard seed – 2 strip
14. Shallots – 5
15. Dried chilly – 1
16. Coconut oil – 1 table spoon
Method of preparation
Take a pan. Heat oil and add chopped onion, ladies finger and green chillies and saute. Add ginger paste, ½ tea spoon chilly powder , 2 tea spoon coriander powder and required salt. then saute this mixture. When it gets sauted and get brownish colour add the chopped tomato into it and saute for one more minute. Then add required water into it and cook by closing the lid. Steam it for 10 minutes. Then add ½ tea spoon pepper powder and garam masala. Later add ½ cup of coconut milk and then boil it for five minutes.
Then take another pan and heat the oil. Add mustard seed and allow to splutter. Then add silt dried chillies, shallots and curry leaves and saute for few minutes. Add this mixture into the curry and mix well. Tasty Vendakka Mappas is ready.
