Rice – ½ Kilo
Jaggery – 2 no
Tamarind ( a lemon size)
Black gram ( urud dal) – 4 spoon
Mustard Seed – 1 spoon
Bengal Gram – 1 spoon
Asafoetida – ½ spoon
Turmeric powder – ½ spoon
Red Chilly – 3 nos
Green Chilly – 3 nos
Salt / curry leaves / gingerly oil – As required

Method of preparation

Extract tamarind juice from tamarind by adding one cup of water. Wash the rice well and cook it by adding required salt. Heat a pan and add the tamarind extract , jaggery . turmeric powder, and salt and boil it till gravy thicken and oil seems. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seed, black gram, Bengal gram . dried chilly, green chilly , Asafoetida powder and curry leaves and fry. Add the thickened tamarind gravy into it and stir well. Add the cooked rice into the gravy and mix well the tamarind gravy into the rice and drain out the water. The tasty Pulisadham ready.
