
Ingredients
Avil – 2 cup
Valan puli (tamarind) – one lemon size
Jaggery – 2 table spoon
Grated coconut – ¼ cup
Oil – 4 spoon
Turmeric powder – one pinch
Chilly – 2 nos
Mustard seed
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Salt – as required
Method of preparation
Clean the avil and drain out the water completely. Take ¼ cup of water. Add the tamarind juice , jaggery and required salt and dissolve well. Add the soaked and drained avil and mix. Heat oil in a frying pan . add mustard seed and turmeric powder and allow to splutter. Add the curry leaves, grated coconut and mix. then add the avil mixture into it and mix well. Puliavil is ready
