Curd – one cup without sour taste
Mathanga / sweet pumpkin chopped – ¼ Kilo
Turmeric powder – one pinch
salt – as required
Green chilly – 2

For masala paste Ingredients

Garlic – 2 cloves
Coconut – half portion of the coconut grated
Mustard seed – ½ tea spoon
Cumin seed – one pich
Small onion (shallots ) – 6

For seasoning

Coconut oil – 1 tea spoon
Mustard seed – one pich
Dried chillies – 2
Curry leaves – 1 strip

Method of preparation

Take a pan. Add the sweet pumpkin pieces, green chilly , turmeric powder and little water into it and cook. Take the grated coconut, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and garlic and grind it in a mixer to make this into a fine paste. ( if you do not like the taste of garlic then you can avoid garlic) then add this prepared paste into the cooked sweet pumpkin and mix well. When it stars to get the steam add the beaten curd into it and can remove from the stove. take another pan and heat oil. Then add the mustard seeds into it and allow to splutter. Then add dried chillies, curry leaves into it and roast. Add this roasted mixture into the sweet pumpkin curry . Mathan pachadi is ready.
