Idli batter – 200 gram
Shallots – chopped – 200 gram
Grated coconut – 1 big spoon
Green chilly – 2
Mustard seed – 1 tea spoon
Curry leaves

Method of preparation

Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seed and allow it to splutter. Add chopped shallots, chopped green chillies, curry leaves . Also add the grated coconut and fry. Then remove from the stove and keep it aside. Add required salt in the idli batter and mix. Add the prepared mix into the batter and mix thoroughly. Place the appa Kuzhi on the stove . pour oil in each portion until it is half full and heat it. After the oil gets heated, pour a small amount of batter into the oil in each portion. Turn over with the help of the stick and cook till the appams are fried well and become the golden brown colour on both sides. Kuzhipaniyaram is ready. You can serve this with chutney or sambar.
