Rice – 1 cup
Sambar parippu – 1 cup
Chilly powder – 1 table spoon
Turmeric powder – ¼ tea spoon
Coriander powder – 1 table spoon
Sambar masala – 1 table spoon
Tamarind – 1 table spoon ( soaked in water)
Hing – one pinch
Ghee – 2 table spoon
Curry leaves

Tomato – 1 ( chopped)
Carrot – 1 (chopped)
Potato – 1 boiled and cut into pieces)
Onion – 1 chopped.

Method of preparation
Clean the rice and parippu thoroughly. Soak it in water for three hours. Take a pressure cooker. Heat it . pour ghee into it. then add the drained rice and parippu into it. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, sambar masala, salt, hing into it and saute. Also pour the tamarind juice and two cup of water into it. cook it till you get three to four whistles. Heat coconut oil or any oil as you wish. Add the mustard seed and allow to splutter. Later add the vegetables into it and saute well. Ad this into the rice and mix. Sambar sadam is ready.
