1. Prawns -1 kg
2. Coconut grated-1/4 cup
3. Red Onion (shallots)-1/4 cups
4. Green Chillyy-6 no.s
5. Pepper powder- 2 tsp
6. Chilly Powder-1 tsp
7. Turmeric powder-1 tsp
8. Coriander Powder-2 tsp
9. Tamarind -1 ball to the size of a lemon
10. Coconut oil-250 ml
11. Curry leaves and salt as required


Cook the prawns adding turmeric powder and salt. In a pan add little oil and fry coconut, add coriander powder, chilly powder, pepper powder and grind well. In a frying pan add 3 table spoon of oil and saute the onion and green chilly and curry leaves till onion turns red. Add the cooked prawns to this and fry. Add the ground curry paste to this, add 1 cup water and boil in slow heat. To the boiling curry and the tamarind syrup and boil again. Remove from fire once the gravy gets thick.
