Ingredients

Ayakkora – ½ Kilo ( cut round)
Onion – 3 ( chopped)
Green chilly – 6 ( slit)
Onion – 2 ( chopped small)
Ginger, garlic crushed – 1 table spoon
Tamarind syrup – as required
Chilly powder – 4 tea spoon
Coriander powder – 1 table spoon
Turmeric powder – ½ tea spoon
Mustard seed, fenugreek – for fry ( as required)
Coconut, curry leaves, salt – as required

Method of preparation

Marinate the fish with 2 tea spoon of chilly powder, little turmeric powder, required salt, 1 tea spoon of coconut oil. Keep this marinated fish aside for ½ hour. Later fry this. Heat oil in an earthen pot , add mustard seed, fenugreek and allow to splutter. Add onion , green chilly, ginger, garlic, curry leaves and fry. Add the remaining chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and saute again. Then add required water, required tamarind juice, required salt and water and boil it. On getting boiled add the fried fish, curry leaves and remove from the stove, Mulakittathu is ready to serve.
