1.Pachari – 3 cup
2.Cooked rice – 1 cup
3.Jaggery – 350 gram
4.Cardamom – 4 nos
5.Salt – one pinch
6.Appacaram – one pinch
7.Ghee – 2 tea spoon
8.Grated coconut – 2 tea spoon
9.Shallots – chopped – one tea spoon

Method of preparation

Take rice (pachari ) and cooked rice . add little water and grind it in a mixer like dosa batter. Add salt, appakaram, cardamom. Heat the jaggery by adding little water to make syrup. Filter this syrup and add this into the batter. Heat ghee in the cooker. When it get half fry add the onion and fry. Pour the jaggery mixed batter into the cooker. Close the lid of the cooker and cook it in low flame. Dont put the cooker weight. When the steam comes out through the cooker pipe, you can presume that the appam might have cooked. Switch off the flame and remove it from the cooker when it get cooled.
