Avil – ¼ kilo
Jaggery – ¼ kilo
Grated coconut – ½ portion
Cardamom – 5
Cumin seed – ¼ tea spoon
Maida – 1 ½ cup
Bengal gram flour (Besan) – 1 ½ cup
Water – as required

Method of preparation

Soak the avil in the water and drain out the water from it by squeezing it. Add the grated coconut and mix well and drain out the water completely from it. Add the jaggery into it and mix well by keeping it on the stove. When the water get drained out completely add the cardamom powde and cumin into it and remove from the stove. Make a batter out of Maida and Besan by adding required water and keep it aside. Then make the avil mixture into small balls and dip it in the batter. Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the sukhiyan in the oil.
