Oushadha Kanji - Adukkala

Oushadha Kanji is a rice prepared adding herbal medicines during cooking meant to improve the heath during the monsoon month of karkidakam per the Malayalam calendar. This practice is meant to improve the general health and add immunity . This also helps in defending the fever common in monsoon season. This kanji has to be taken in the morning.


Navara rice or brocken rice as needed
Jeera (cumin seeds)- 5 gms
Uluva ( fenugreek) -5 gms
Pepper- 2 gms
Dry ginger-3 gms

Boil the rice adding all the above ingredients, Ready to serve once the rice is cooked well.
