Ingredients

1. Vellarikka – 2 cup
2. Curd – 2 cup
3. Green chilly – 2 nos
4. Turmeric powder – ¼ tea spoon
5. Salt – as required

For spluttering
1. Shallots – 5
2. Raisins – 3
3. Curry leaves – 1 strand
4. Ginger – 2 tea spoon (chopped)
5. Turmeric powder – ¼ tea spoon
6. Fenugreek seed – 1 pinch
7. Cumin powder – ¼ tea spoon
8. Oil – ½ tea spoon
9. Mustard seed – ½ tea spoon

Method of preparation

Peel off the skin from the vellarikka and Remove the seeds. Then chop it and add turmeric powder, salt, chopped green chilly and boil it for 57 minutes. At the same time , take curd, add one cup of water, ¼ tea spoon turmeric powder and little salt and mix well. Then add the mixed curd into the boiled vellarikka and stir it. keep on stirring it, but don’t allow to boil too much. Take a kadai , heat oil . add the mustard seed into it and make it splutter. Add shallots, dried chilly, ginger, curry leaves into it and saute. Also add one pinch of turmeric powder, cumin powder, fennel seed into it and mix. After that add this mixture into the vellarikka curd mix and stir.
