Mulankoombu ( bamboo shoots or sprouts) sliced thin – ½ kilo
Mustard seed – 1 tea spoon
Shallots – 50 gram
Coconut oil – 2 tea spoon
Kanthari mulaku – 3
Salt – as required
Grated coconut – ½ portion of a coconut

Method of preparation

In order to remove the bitter taste the bamboo sprouts ( mulankoombu) should be boiled for half an hour and drain out the water completely. Heat oil in a pan . add the chopped onions and fry. Put the chopped onions into the cooked bamboo sprout and mix. then add the spluttered mustard seed. After that add the grated coconut , slit kantharimulaku, curry leaves and mix. when it gets cooked remove from the flames. This is really good for reducing Sugar and Cholesterol
