Brinjal (vazhuthananga) – ½ kilo
Onion – 2
Bengal gram – 1 tea spoon
Coriander – 1 tea spoon
Dried chilly – 3
Turmeric powder – ½ tea spoon
Mustard seed – 1 tea spoon
Curry leaves

Method of preparation

Cut the brinjal in round thin pieces. take oil in a pan and heat it. Add Bengal gram, coriander seed, dried chilly and fry. After getting cooled grind it to become soft paste. Heat oil in pan again and splutter the mustard seed. Add curry leaves also. Add the chopped onion and fry. Add brinjal, Salt and mix well. later add turmeric powder, prepared paste and mix. Close the lid and cook this. If you require you can add little water and cook. When the brinjal gets cooked and the gravy get thickened you can remove from the stove and can serve.
