Kadala – 1 cup
Chena ( elephant yam) chopped – 150 gram
Coconut grated – 1 big
Urud dal – 1 tea spoon
Coriander seed – 2 table spoon
Dried chilly – 10
Salt – as required
Kudampuli – one small piece
Method of preparation
Take a pan . roast coriander seed and urud dal. Then add coconut and fry. When it get fried add chilly and then fry it in low flame. Fry till you get good smell and till it become brown colour. then grind it without adding water. Transfer the paste into a steel vessel and close it tight.

Soak the kadala for eight hours. Cook the kadala, when it gets half boiled add elephant yam( chena) pieces into it. When it gets cooked add the salt and kudampuli into it. When it get boiled add the masala paste. When the gravy gets thickened remove from the stove. Curry should be in thick consistency.
