Chembu – 10
Pepper – 1 tbsp
Uzhunnu – 2 tbsp
Dried Chilly – 1
Asafoetida – 1 piece
Ellu – 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tbsp
Garlic – 4 pieces
Tamarind – a small piece
Curry leaves – a handful
Mustard – 1 tbsp
Gingely – 1/4 cup
Salt – as needed

Cook well the chembu pieces. Fry and grind ingredients from 2 to 5. Fry the ellu too. Add oil in a pan, add mustard, curry leaves and turmeric powder. Add tamarind in water for sometime and then squeeze it and add to the pan. Add the chembu to this. When this starts boiling, add the fried mixture to it. Add salt to this. Add ellu powder after taking off the flame. Grind well the garlic and add along with some gingely oil to this mix.
