Carrot chopped – 250 gram
Thuvar dal boiled and pasted – 100 gram
Coconut, cumin seed, garlic – paste’
Coconut, Urud dal ( black gram) , Bengal gram (Parippu) , mustard seed dried chilly – fried
Chilly powder
Turmeric powder
Coconut oil

Method of Preparation

Pour water in a pan and boil the carrot. Have to boil by adding chilly powder, turmeric powder, and salt.. After getting boiled add the boiled parippu into it. Take coconut, cumin seed and grind it to make paste Then add this paste into the cooked carrot . when it get boiled add the fried coconut and urud dal and mix well. After adding the fried coconut you should not add water into it. this dish Carrot Erissery is very tasty which can be served with rice. You can also make Erissery with Elephant Yam ( Chena) raw banana ( vazhakka) instead of Carrot.
