
Ingredients
Bitter gourd (large) – one
Sour tender mango – three
Green chilly split at end – Five
Salt – enough
Grated coconut – Half piece
Curd – one cup
Cumin seed ed chilly – four
Curry leaves – two petals
Fenugreek – quarter teaspoon
Method
Finely slice bitter gourd, apply salt and keep. In an earthen pot pour oil and fry green chilly and bitter gourd. Add curry leaves, chilly powder, Turmeric powder and mangoes. Fry fro some time and close the pot with a lid after pouring sufficient water and salt. Grind the coconut and cumin seed. Add this to the bitter gourd and boil till the oil surfaces. Heat oil in a pan and fry mustard seed, red chilly, fenugreek and curry leaves. Add this to the kaaLan. It is ready.
