Rice ( puzhungalari) – 2 cup soaked for five hours
Dal ( parippu) – one cup soaked for half an hour.
Coconut – grated – one half
Salt – as required

Method of Preparation

Grind the puzhukkalari and parippu in a grinder . The batter should not become finer paste. It is better that you grind it in stone grinder. You can also grind it in a mixer but should make sure that it is not getting finer paste. It should get grind only ¾. Add required salt and coconut into it and knead it. heat coconut oil in a pan. Take little of the kneaded dough and keep It in the palm and spread round it like you make for vada. Then put this vada in the oil . when it gets puffed up and the bottom side becomes golden colour then turn over and fry gently and remove from the stove. since it is getting flapped it is called Paripodi Pollavada. Can serve hot.
