Murukku - Adukkala


1.   Raw Rice – 1 kg
2.   Roasted Urad Dal – ¼ kg
3.   Ghee – 100 gm
4.   Coconut oil – ½ lt.
5.   Salt – as needed
6.   Asafetida – ¼ tbsp

Grind the raw rice and Skinless Urad dal to powder separately. Mix the powdered rice, urad dal, asafetida, fennel powder in ghee/oil and roll into firm dough. Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan, put the dough in the murukku shaper, and gently drop the dough in circles into the hot oil. Remove from oil, when the murukku is well cooked and light brown in colour.
