Mathi / Sardine – ½ Kilo
Maracheeni / Tapioca – ¾ Kilo
Green chilly – 4
Shallots – 10 cloves
Ginger – 1 piece
Garlic – 4 cloves
Curry leaves – 2 strip
Turmeric powder – 1 ¼ tea spoon
Chilly powder – 2 tea spoon
Salt – as required
Coconut oil – 1 tea spoon

Method of preparation

Remove the skin of tapioca / maracheeni and cut it into very small pieces. then clean thoroughly. Add half cup of water, ¼ tea spoon turmeric powder, required salt and close the lid and cook till the water get completely drained. Then smash it and keep it aside. Clean the mathi / Sardine in clean water and cut into pieces. add ½ tea spoon turmeric powder, 1 ½ tea spoon chilly powder, required salt, one strip curry leaves and half cup of water and cook till the water get drained. On getting cooled remove the bone and keep it aside. take ginger, onion, garlic, green chilly and chop finely. Take a pan add coconut oil and heat. Then add the finely chopped ginger , onion, garlic , green chilly accordingly and saute. Then add ½ tea spoon turmeric powder and required salt and again saute till the raw smell goes. After that take the earlier prepared tapioca / maracheeni crushed paste and mix thoroughly. On getting cooled , rub oil in your palms , make small round balls out of the mix and make patties. Take a tawa. Rub oil slightly into it and heat. Then keep the patties into the tawa and fry both sides till it becomes golden colour.
