Pathiri powder – 400 gram
Egg – 1
Water – 2 cup
Black cumin seed – 2 spoon
Ghee – 2 table spoon
Shallots ( chopped into small pieces ) – 2 spoon
Oil – As required
Salt – To taste

Method of preparation

Heat oil in a pan and add the shallots and fry till it become brown colour. Add 2 cups water and salt and cover the pan . When it starts to boil add pathiri powder and with a lengthy spoon corner make a hole in the centre. Close the lid for some time . Then mx the powder with the other end of the spoon. Allow this mixture to get cooled. On getting cooled add egg and black cumin and knead well to make a smooth dough. Then take a little of dough and make small balls, flatten or press each balls to make small button shapes. Heat oil in a pan, add the button shaped chukkappams in batches and deep fry until it get cooked, and crispy. You can serve this along with fried meat.
