* Unakka Chemmeen ( Dried Prawns ) – ½ cup
* Grated coconut – 1 cup
* Coriander powder – 2 tea spoon
* Chilly powder – 2 tea spoon
* Green chillies – 2 no ( cut into small pieces)
* Ginger – one small piece ( crushed)
* Tomato – 2 medium ( cut into 4 to 5 pieces)
* Onion – 1
* Mustard seeds – ½ tea spoon
* Shallots – 4 nos ( cut into small pieces)
* Curry leaves – 5 leaves
* Coconut oil – 3 tea spoon
* Salt – as required

Method of preparation

Remove the head and tail of the unakka chemmeen ( dried prawns) and roast it in a pan for some time. While roasting you does not need to add Oil. When it changes the colour add the grated coconut and again heat it for some more time till all the moisture evaporates. While roasting you have to stir it continuously. Once it becomes goldern colour remove it from the flames and and keep it aside.
Add 2 tea spoon coriander powder 1 tea spoon chilly powder and roast . grind all the ingredient by adding required water and make it a fine paste. Once the paste is ready keep this aside.

Now take another pan and heat oil. Add cut shallots (small onion) into it and saute. Then add cut tomatoes and green chillies into it and saute. Stir it till the tomato gets cooked. Then add crushed ginger and one tea spoon chilly powder into and and stir it for one minute. The add the earlier prepared paste into it. the add required water and salt and stir it for sometime. Tomato chemmeen curry is ready to serve.
