1.Ayakkora – ½ kilo ( cut in round pieces)
2.Onion – 3 ( chopped small)
3.Green chillies – 6 ( slitted)
4.Tomato – 6 ( chopped small)
5.Ginger, garlic crushed – one table spoon
6.Tamarind juice – as required
7. Piriyan chilly powder – 4 tea spoon
8.Coriander powder – 1 tables spoon
9.Turmeric powder – ½ tea spoon
10.Mustard seed, fenugreek – required to fry
11.Coconut oil , curry leaves, salt – as required

Method of preparation

Marinate the fish with 2 tea spoon of chilly powder, little turmeric powder , required salt and 1 tea spoon of coconut oil and keep it aside for half an hour. After that fry it. Take an earthen pot and heat the coconut oil. Add mustard seed and fenugreek seed and allow It to splutter. Then add onion, green chilly, ginger, garlic and curry leaves and saute. Then Add the remaining chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and again saute. Then add required water, tamarind juice, salt and boil.
When it gets boiled add the fried fish and curry leaves and remove from the stove. Mulakittathu is ready.
