Kallumakkai – 15 nos
Rice flour – 2 cup
Grated coconut – ¼ cup
Onion -4 nos
Sauf (perumjeerakam) – ¼ tea spoon
Green chilly ( chopped) – 1
Ginger – 1
Curry leaves – 2 strip
Cumin powder – ¼ tea spoon
Chilly powder – 1 tea spoon
Turmeric powder – ½ tea spoon
Salt – as required
Water – as required

Method of preparation.

Clean the kallumakkai outer shell. If the shells are broken don’t use it. Boil water and put the kallumakkai into it till the outer shells get opened. The take out and open the shells by using knife. Then clean it with water and remove the dirt. Then add the grated coconut, onion, cumin powder, ginger, curry leaves, salt, rice flour and mix. Then add water and knead it. then push the outer shell and fill the prepared mixture inside. Then cook it by steaming for twenty minutes. On getting cooked keep it aside for cooling. Heat a pan . add oil and heat. Then add chilly powder, turmeric powder, rice flour , salt and fry. Add the filled kallumakka and fry.
