Prawns Biriyani - Adukkala

Prawns Biriyani

1. Prawns shelled and cleaned – 250 g
2. Biriyani Rice – 200 g
3. Oil  – 100 g
4. Ghee – 50 g
5. Large Onion  sliced thinly –  100 g
6. Coriander leaves – 10 g
7. Green chillies  – 25 g
8. Coriander powder – 1 tsp
9. Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
10. Chilli powder – ½ tsp
11. Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
12. Lemon Juice  –  as required
13. Ginger  – small pcs
14. Salt – to taste

Add Masala in the cleaned prawns and keep it for half an hour. Then fry the same in oil and keep separate. In the same oil, add the half portion of the sliced onions and fry till it get soft. Add the chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and fry for some more time. Once it get fried add the required water and salt and boil it. Now add the fried prawns in to it also add coriander leaves, garam masala powder, lemon juice and mix well. Once it get mixed well keep it separate. In a separate vessel, pour ghee and fry the remaining portion of the onion.   Once the onion gets soft add the washed rice and roast for some time. Then pour boiled water into it and close the lid tightly and cook the same in low flame.  Once the get cooked and the water get drained keep the half portions separate.  Layer the first half of rice, and above spread the Prawns mix and again end with the layer of rice. Close the lid tightly and cook the same in low flame for some time. Tasty Biriyani is ready to serve.
