1.Karimeen – 250 gram
2.Coconut milk – ½ glass
3.Roasted rice flour – 50 gram
4.Shallots – 100 gram
5.Garlic – 4 cloves
6.Ginger – small piece
7.Green chilli – 7 nos
8.Curry leaves – one strip
9.Pepper powder – one pinch
10.Chilli powder – as required
11.Turmeric powder – ¼ tea spoon
12.Salt – as required
13.Oil – 3 table spoon

Method of preparation

Add salt to the coconut milk and boil. Add the roasted rice flour into it and knead it without forming the lumps. Then make the dough into small balls.

Clean the fish thoroughly. Mark both sides of the fish with the knife. Mix the turmeric powder , salt and green chilli paste. Marinate the fish with this prepared mix and keep it aside for half an hour. Take the ingredients from four to eight and cut the same into small pieces. Heat oil in a pan and fry this. On getting fried add the chilli powder if necessary.
Marinate this mix also in the fish on both sides. Take a heated banana leaf and spread the rice flour balls . then keep the fish into it and fold the leaves and steam it in keeping appa chembu. Meen ada is ready.
