Ingredients

Cherupayar parippu ( split green gram) – 1 cup
Rice – ¼ cup
Kalkkandam – ¼ cup
Salt – one pinch
Oil – As required

Method of Preparation

Soak the green gram (split Cherupayar parippu,) and Rice for 30 minutes. Powder the kalkkandam . Grind the soaked rice and cherupayar pairppu adding the powdered kalkkandam into a fine paste. Mix the mixture well. Roll out small portions of the mixture into lime sized ball and flatter slighly between the palms to give it shape and make a hole in the center. Take a pan and heat oil. Deep fry the vadas until they become golden brown. Serve hot.
