Ingredients : –

Maida – ½ cups
Wheat flour – ½ cup
Baking soda – ½ tea spoon
Milm – ½ glass
Egg – 1
Salt – As required
Dalda / oil – 1 table spoon
Hot water – as required
Sugar – As required

Method of preparation: –

Mix together maida , wheat flour and baking soda in a vessel. In another vessel mix the beaten egg , milk, sugar salt and oil . Add this to the maida / wheat flour mix along with required water and make a soft dough. Pat the dough on a clean surface to make it soft. Make sure the dough is not getting sticky on the fingers. Cover the dough with a wet cloth for at least 4 hours. Make 10 small balls of the dough. Rub oil in a clean surface and knead the small ball dough once again in the oil with hands. Then make pleats so as to look like a hand made paper fan. This is done to get layers, then roll out to make it like chappathis . Heat a pan, add little oil and put the porotta on the pan on low flame till It get cooked. Cook both sides till it become slightly brown. Once done, use both hands and pat on the sides of the porotta to get the layers. This can be served with chicken curry , Beef fry etc
