Broken wheat – 200gms
Coconut grated – ½ cup
Carrot small pieces – 2
Beans small pieces – 5
Onion small pieces – 1
Ginger finely cut – 1tbsp
Green chillies – 2
Curry leaves – a few
Salt to taste
Boiled water – double the broken wheat measurement
Coconut oil


Heat oil in the pan. Add mustard seeds wait for it to sputter . Add curry leaves, carrot, beans, onion, green chillies, ginger, salt etc. Stir well then pour boiled water. Wash broken wheat and add to it, also add grated coconut. Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook. Upma is ready
