1. Good fleshy Fish – 500 gram
2. Chilli Powder – 1tsp
3. Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
4. Ginger ( cut into very small pieces ) – 1 tsp
5. Garlic – 8 nos
6. Vinegar – ½ cup
7. Mustard seed – 1 tsp
8. Onion – chopped into small pieces – ¼ cup
9. Water – 1 cup
10. Sugar – 1 tsp
11. Salt – to Taste
12. Fenugreek seeds , Asafoetida (Roasted and powdered)
Method of Preparation
Clean the fish and cut the same into very small pieces, add Salt, Turmeric Powder and keep it aside for some time. Fry the Fish in Oil. Grind the Chilli Powder, Turmeric Powder, Ginger, Garlic, pouring little Vinegar to make a paste. Boil one cup of Oil in Kadai Put the mustard seeds and Chopped onion into it and fry well. Add the ingredients paste into it and fry for some time in low flame. When the oil come on the top of the paste, pour water. When the water get boiled add the Vinegar , Sugar and salt and allow it to boil for some time. Then add the Fried Fish into it and cook for some time. Once the water get drained and the gravy get thick add the Powder of Fenugreek and Asafoetida and mix well.
