Ingredients

1. Raw rice – two cup
2. Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon
3.Salt – as required

(Half cook the rice with turmeric powder and salt and drain).

4. Egg – two
5. Salt – a pinch
6. Dalda – one table spoon

(Beat the egg and fry in dalada, stirring well to get small chunks of
fried egg.)

7. Carrot(cut to small pieces) – one cup
8. Cabbage sliced – half cup
9. ElephantYam shout (chena mulachchathu)- ¾ cup
10. Melon leaf – ¾ cup
11. Cheera – ¾ cup
12. Thazhuthaamayila – ½ cup

(all shredded finely)

13. Grated coconut – one cup
14. Green chilly – 4
15. Cumin seed – ½ teaspoon
16. Garlic – five

(Crush together 13 to 16 ingredients)

17. Lemon juice – 1 ½ table spoon
18. Ghee/ dalda – 2 table spoon
19. Pepper powder – 1 teaspoon
20. Sugar – 1 teaspoon
21. Coriander leaf – ½ cup

Method

In a flat large pan, heal dalda or ghee and fry the carrot and
cabbage. Add all the leaves and cruched items (13 to 16) and continue
to fry, stirring well. Add rice, lemon juice, fried egg, pepper powder
and sugar one by one. Add half of the coriander leaves and remove from
fire. Garnish with coriander leaf. Serve with pickle, pappadam, mint
chammanthi and curds.
