Ingredients

Netholi fish – 1 cup
Shallots (crushed) – 1 cup
Ginger (paste) – 1 tea spoon
Garlic (paste) – 1 tea spoon
Green chilly – (paste) – 1 tea spoon
Pepper powder – 1 tea spoon
Turmeric powder – ½ tea spoon
Curry leaves / salt / oil – as required

Method of preparation
Clean and wash the fish ( Netholi) several times ( remove the head, tail and all inside ) and keep it aside. Heat oil in a pan, add ginger, garlic, green chilly, shallots and fry the same for 3 minutes. Then add turmeric powder, pepper powder, salt and add the cleaned fish. Cook for sometime. Take a banana leaf and keep it inside in a mud pot. Pour some oil. Wrap the cleaned fish by the leaf. Close the lid and cook for some time. On getting cooked remove it from the stove. Decorate with curry leaves. Netholi pollichathu is ready to serve.
